We have tons of articles about eating disorders and information for parents who have children who have eating disorders. Eating disorders are complex, but part of the problem is that we don’t talk about them enough. This site is about looking beyond the eating disorder behaviors and into the thought patterns and emotional needs that lie beneath the behaviors. This is not about “fixing” your child, but, rather, about learning to parent in light of the fact that your child has an eating disorder.
Finding out that your child has an eating disorder is scary. Almost all parents do their very best to nurture and support their children. It’s important to remember that even though an eating disorder diagnosis is a very big deal, you can absolutely help. Eating disorders can be healed, especially when we seek expert support for our kids and learn parenting skills to support our kids’ recovery.
