Parenting is infinitely harder when we don't have a close relationship with our child. Many parents allow their child to manage the parent-child relationship, but this book tells us that it's up to us to work hard to maintain a close, meaningful relationship with our kids. When we hold onto our relationship, we are better able to support our kids through struggles and are more likely to be able to help them navigate eating disorder recovery.
