Alison Swiggard, MS, RDN, LD
I am a registered dietitian who specializes in eating disorder care and non-diet nutrition support. My work centers on helping people heal their relationship with food and their bodies after years of dieting, disordered eating, or living in a culture that constantly sends harmful messages about weight and health. I work with adults across the eating disorder spectrum, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, chronic dieting, and body image distress. I also support clients navigating co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, ADHD, gastrointestinal conditions, and hormonal or metabolic concerns, all through a weight-inclusive, compassionate lens.
My approach is grounded in Health at Every Size® (HAES®), intuitive eating, and trauma-informed care. I believe that bodies are not problems to be fixed, and that healing happens through collaboration, curiosity, and trust rather than rules or restriction. Sessions are individualized and paced with care, focusing on nourishment, food flexibility, attunement to internal cues (when appropriate), and reducing shame around eating. I work closely with therapists, physicians, and other providers when part of a client’s care team, and I prioritize creating a space that feels safe, validating, and human. My goal is not to control food or bodies, but to help clients feel more grounded, supported, and at peace in their daily lives.
