My approach is very much individualized based on the person who is struggling with the ED, especially with adults - what works for one person, may not work for another (for example, the use of a meal plan or not). For kids, typically first follow and encourage an FBT/Maudsley Approach for treatment, supporting the child and/or the parents as needed. Over time I help the child reestablish some independence in their food preparation and intake, and transition back to intuitive eating.

Bringing aspects from psychodynamic and relational models, somatic and mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral practices, I believe therapy can be a space to play and explore alongside an open or caring other. Together we can work outside of the binaries of “right” and “wrong” or “good” and “bad” to foster a felt sense of freedom and revolution in your life.

Emily Fogle, LMSW
My approach is rooted in being an anti-diet, fat-positive, HAES-aligned clinician. Much of my work focuses on supporting people who are LGBTQ+, as I specialize in working with transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary individuals, as well as athletes, who struggle with eating and their relationship with food and exercise. I like to take a diverse approach in treatment, utilizing several theories in order to meet each client’s needs and goals. I draw on psychodynamic and relational orientations while using mindfulness, somatic, and cognitive techniques for emotional and relational healing. My treatment approach is informed by my experiences as a queer, non-binary person, and former athlete.

Emily McGinniss, LMSW
I believe in an integrative approach to therapy, addressing both the mind and the body. I am committed to providing compassionate care from mindfulness evidence based practices such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Health At Every Size (HAES) to facilitate holistic healing and support each person’s unique needs and goals.
My areas of expertise include the mind/body connection, trauma-informed care, health and eating disorder recovery, stress management and anxiety/depression. In my sessions, we work together as a team. I treat the client as a whole, not a symptom. I believe that you have everything you need to to succeed; I am here to help you access it. Through personalized insight and psychoeducation, we work as a team in developing tools of self-regulation to empower and (re)establish a feeling of security and trust within the body and mind so you can feel confident in your next steps.
Many of my clients come out of therapy feeling confident in taking the next best steps for themselves from a deeper understanding of their authentic wants and needs. They report that they have an easier time sitting with and processing difficult emotions, are more comfortable with themselves both alone and in social interactions, and have a clearer sense of their core values and beliefs. Most importantly, they feel safe, listened to, supported, and seen for who they really are.
I work with individuals across the age span, as well as couples and families. I look forward to the opportunity to connect and partner with you on your pursuit of discovery and self-care.
