We provide hardship evaluations in English and Spanish for loved ones of individuals facing deportation or seeking asylum and gestational carrier/donor candidate evaluations and consultation. The first step in working with parents and families that are interested in influencing a child or teen's eating and nutrition is education for themself and exposure to a qualified teacher and expert. With my credentials of a Masters in Public Health, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, and Registered Yoga Teacher - I bring a holistic approach to supporting your health and overall well-being, because it's about so much more than the food that someone puts in their body.

My approach is to assume that the parent is the expert on their child. My role is to be an outside perspective on what is working and not working and to provide ideas to make changes that can help parent and child get to the outcome they desire.

I provide outpatient Telehealth nutrition counseling to adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders or disordered eating. During the first phase of nutrition care, I work with clients (and/or their caregivers) to create an individually-tailored meal plan and eating pattern that meets their nutritional needs and promotes physiological stabilization. Once clients are more stable in their recovery, we work on adding variety and flexibility to their food choices, ensuring they are comfortable eating in most or all environments and situations. Eventually, we explore the principles of Intuitive Eating, and discuss how to develop and maintain sustainable, health-promoting lifestyle behaviors that fully align with eating disorder recovery.
Throughout my career, I have worked in all levels of eating disorder treatment (residential, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient), providing nutrition counseling to adolescents and adults of all ages. In my private practice, I utilize a combination of treatment modalities (DBT, exposure and response prevention, meal support) in addition to medical nutrition therapy for eating disorders. I am comfortable providing family based treatment (FBT) as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team. I'm also comfortable working with clients who have co-occurring mental health conditions. I am passionate about helping people to heal their relationships with food and their bodies!

When working with parents, I utilize a mixture of Ellyn Satter's DOR and Intuitive eating. I address the parents' own relationship with food/body with these models and support them in building more DOR oriented systems/structures into their family dynamics around food.
